whaddup foolz! my name is mel. like most of my fellows in our 30's, we grew up on myspace. all of my glitter graphics, falling items, unrelenting profile songs, the ability to hide things here and add things here. reformat this, change the color of that. somehow, my brain retained some of that information and stored it in the nostalgia bucket. did anyone else have to create a geocities in their computer class? and learn how to code tables with hex codes and insert awkward clip art?
fast forward, adulthood: through being a line cook in kitchens, being an avid forager, and being a ding dang hippie at natural food stores, i experienced plants through culinary and medicinal uses... enter, an earth shattering breakup: i needed a hobby that wasn't a person. what more could you want? fragrances: stimulate your senses, transport you through memories and made up stories, and act as a niche accessory that comes with it's own knowledge base, vocabulary, and online communities. i think it's another way that plants express themselves to us. science says aromatherapy works, folks!
tldr; this is an ode to a few things: fragrances, herbalism, and the blessed web design from the cyber superhighway of yore.
